What is the age requirement to ride?

Riders need to be at least 18 years old to use Summit Bike Share.

Where can I ride my Summit Bike Share bike?

You can ride anywhere in the city as long as you remain within the system area. You can check the designated area on the Summit Bike Share map, website, App or kiosk. If you leave the area or go off-road you might be charged a fee.

How long can I rent a Summit Bike Share bike?

Annual, Monthly, weekly and Go Pass Members get unlimited rides up to 45 minutes. Don’t want to end your ride? You can keep the bike for an extended period with an overage fee of $2.00 for each additional ½ hour thereafter.

 

Single-Trip users have 45 minutes of free time on their ride before overage fees of $2.00 for each additional ½ hour start.

 

The Summit Bike Share must be returned within 10 hours. If a bike is not returned after 10 consecutive hours of use, it will be considered stolen and a fee of $2,000.00 will be charged to your credit card, unless reported to Summit Bike Share differently. Why do I have a $35.00 pre-authorization hold on my credit card?

At the kiosks, Single-Trip, Weekly and Monthly Pass users can check out one or more bikes with their credit card. Summit Bike Share reserves a $35 per bike pre-authorization hold for the duration of your Pass to ensure that the system is used adequately. The pre-authorization release differs depending on your bank. Check with your bank for more details.

Why does Summit Bike Share have Overage Charges?

Summit Bike Share was designed as a system that is to available to all residents and visitors. Overage charges apply because it prompts users to return the bicycles after they have finished riding them, ensuring that the entire community can enjoy the system.

Can I lend my Summit Bike Share Pass to someone?

No. Monthly, Yearly and Go Passes are only valid for their registered users. Because passes are connected to your identification and payment information, you will be held responsible for any incidents that occur under the account. Passes are non-transferrable, and cannot be shared with another user.

How do I take a Summit County bike out of a dock?

Go to any Summit Bike Share station and find an available bike. Look at the dashboard located between the handle bars to verify that the bike is available for use.

 

Tap your Monthly, Annual, Weekly, Go Pass or Single-Trip Pass on the indicated section of the bike dashboard. The bike will signal that your pass has been read and that you are ready to remove the bike from the dock. You have 10 seconds to take the bike out of the dock before it re-locks and you will have to repeat the process.

 

If you are using the App, login and choose the bike you want to ride by entering the bike number. Each bike number is located under the steering post, directly beneath the handlebar. The bike will unlock within a few seconds after entering the code.

 

You may receive an error code if the bike is not available to ride. There might be a problem with the bike or your subscription. Try again on another bike or review your Membership information at the kiosk. If you continue to have problems, please call customer service at 1-866-539-2453 (1-866-539-BIKE).

I only want to use the Summit Bike Share occasionally. Can I ride without becoming a Monthly or Annual Member?

Yes, you can get a Go Pass, a Weekly or Monthly Pass on the App or use the system by paying at the kiosk (Single-Trip, Weekly or Monthly Pass). Pricing can be found on the pricing page.

I registered online. Can I use the service now?

Yes, after you register you can use the system right away by virtually unlocking a bike with the App. Just download the Summit Bike Share App and login. Next, choose the unlock option and input the bike number located under the steering post directly beneath the handlebar.

 

You can also use your Monthly, Annual or Go Pass to unlock a bike once it arrives in the mail and you activate it via the website.

I received my Pass through the mail. How do I activate it?

You have several options:

 

- You can activate it online here. Use your email address and password to login, and then type the pass number on the activation menu.

 

- You can also activate your pass by contacting customer service at 1-866-539-2453 (1-866-539-BIKE).

Can I take out more than one bike at a time?

You may only take out one bike at a time with a Go Pass, Monthly or Annual Pass. However, you can take out up to four bikes at a time when purchasing a Weekly, Monthly Pass or a Single-Trip at the station kiosk.

When does my Pass begin?

Your Pass begins on the date of your registration. After you register you can use the system right away by unlocking a bike using the App.

What if I need to return my bike and the station is full?

If the station is full, you have two options:

 

- Touch the kiosk screen to get 15 minutes added to your ride at no charge and find a nearby station with an available dock.

 

- Or contact us at 1-866-539-2453 (1-866-539-BIKE) to create a virtual station and return the bike via the secondary dock. Just safely lock the bike next to the station with the secondary lock and wait for the beep and onscreen notification to confirm a successful lock.

What if there are no bikes at the station?

Use our app or station map to find an available bike at a nearby station. A printed station map is located on each station, and customer service is standing by to help!

 

Our online map and app provide real-time information about the number of available bikes and docks at each station.

My bike or Pass has been lost or stolen. What happens now?

Contact one of our customer service agents as soon as possible at 1-866-539-2453 (1-866-539-BIKE) so we can deactivate your Pass and/or immediately locate the bike (all bikes have live GPS).
